Command NCO
Biography – Senior Master Sergeant Christopher A. Kehrer, CAP
SMSgt Kehrer is the first Comand NCO for the North Carolina Wing. As Command NCO he serves as the primary advisor to the Commander on matters concerning mission effectiveness as well as the professional development, training, and utilization of the Wing’s NCOs. His additional duties are to observe and report on the performance of the squadrons within the Wing.
Since December of 2015, MSgt Kehrer was an active member of the Franklin County Composite Squadron where he served as the Squadron’s NCO, Leadership Officer, Logistics Officers and Deputy Commander of Cadets. He was awarded the Wing’s Cadet Programs Officer of the Year for 2018. On 09 Janurary 2020, and after completion of his level 4, MSgt Kehrer was promoted to Senior Master Sergeant. SMSgt Kehrer left the Marine Corps as a Marine Gunnery Sergeant where he served numerous positons. Originally enlisted as a Hawk Missile Acquisition Technician until 1997 and later becoming an Air Traffic Control Communications Technician. His final duties with the Corps was participating in OIF during the 2003 offensive as a Systems Communications Chief.
