Biography - Lt. Col. James "Fitz" Fitzpatrick, CAP
Lt. Col. Jim “Fitz’ Fitzpatrick joined the Civil Air Patrol in 2008. He has served as the Squadron Commander of the Boone Composite Squadron (NC-153), the Group 1 Commander and most recently as the Director of Cadet Programs for the North Carolina Wing.
Lt. Col. Fitzpatrick holds a Master rating in Cadet Programs, a Senior rating in Finance and a Technician rating in Command.
Often saying that he was “raised by Cadets,” Lt. Col. Fitzpatrick has attended 12 Encampments, commanding two. He has been dedicated to the Cadet Program in any position he has held.
Lt. Col. Fitzpatrick and his wife, Capt. Jenny Fitzpatrick raised five kids in the mountains of Western North Carolina, three of which were active members of the Cadet Program. One achieved the Carl A. Spaatz Award, one achieved the Ira C. Eaker Award, and one achieved the Amelia Earhart Award.
